About the role: The Ability Services Coordinator is an integral part of the Healthy People Team, working to provide responsive, individualised services and support for each person and family consistent with their NDIS plan, relevant legislation, TDC policies and quality safety and security guidelines. You’ll be working closely with local community members to develop, guide and implement culturally appropriate, safe, fulfilling, and person-centred NDIS plans. About You: <ul>
<li>An understanding of the challenges of working in remote Australia. </li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills with people in remote communities. </li>
<li>Leadership, coaching and mentoring skills </li>
<li>Understanding of the barriers faced by clients in remote communities who have complex needs and who are culturally and linguistically diverse. </li>
<li>Demonstrated experience working within disability/social services case management framework. </li>

NDIS Ability Services Coordinator

Wadeye is the Territory's 6th most populous town and one of Australia's largest remote indigenous communities.The primary purpose of the role is to provide complete mechanical services to all vehicles and private customers within the Wadeye community, ensuring all vehicles, heavy and light earth moving equipment and other plant and machinery are kept in a serviceable condition for use. A positive customer relations focus and ability to maintain a good rapport with the community is essential. To be successful, you’ll have: <ul>
<li>Relevant trade qualifications with minimum 2 years minimum trade experience,</li>
<li>Airconditioning licence and/or NT Roadworthy Inspectors licence would be advantageous,</li>
<li>Proven experience in working in a mechanical workshop, </li>
<li>Ability to work effectively as part of a team,</li>
<li>Sound time management and organisational skills including attention to detail,</li>
<li>A high level of communication and interpersonal skills, across a wide variety of audiences,</li>
<li>Sound negotiation and conflict resolution skills,</li>
<li>Resilience, cheerfulness, and a willing “can-do” attitude,</li>
<li>Ability to display initiative, problem solve and work with limited supervision.</li>
</ul>Tasks &amp; responsibilities<ul>
<li>Interpret manuals and software to identify spare parts and liaise with the Workshop Manager in regard to parts ordering.</li>
<li>Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on TDC plant, equipment, machinery, and vehicles as directed.</li>
<li>Comply with all documented WH&amp;S policies, procedures, work instructions and verbal instructions issued by the Workshop Manager</li>
<li>Clean workshop area, tools, vehicles, including company vehicles.</li>
<li>Strip, dismantle, clean, identify, store, and catalogue parts as required.</li>
<li>Diagnose faults in machinery/vehicles systems and rectify.</li>
<li>Plan work so that it is done efficiently and in accordance with industry standards.</li>
<li>Ability to operate tools in a safe and responsible manner.</li>
<li>Ability to use computerised diagnostic equipment.</li>
